Everyone Starts Somewhere!

I began my fitness journey 2  years ago. On January 1, 2013, I was committed to getting in the best shape of my life for my upcoming wedding! I had always struggled with my weight and I knew that I would be the center of attention on that magical day, so I was determined to stay committed and reach my goal weight. I began my journey as a one man show. I had always been into working out, but never really stayed focused or had any real reason to stay motivated nor did I have the support system to keep me focused. THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT ENGAGEMENT! I believe my engagement changed my entire life and it lead me down a road that helped me get a serious grip on my life overall!

When I started my health and fitness journey, I weighed 166.8 lbs. The heaviest I had ever been in my life from when I actually kept track of my weight. I was unhappy, I lacked self confidence, and could barely find ways to keep a positive attitude about anything. I hid from the camera, I hated the way I looked. I always compared myself to others and thought I was always going to look like that and be overweight. "IT WAS IN MY GENES" was my attitude. I never took blame for my actions and how I was eating or what I was NOT doing.

Once I started working out and getting my eating habits under control, I was able to lose 20 pounds in the first four months. I was gaining back some confidence, and was finally starting to notice a positive change in how I was acting and how things were panning out in life. "Change your thoughts, and your life will Change!" While 2013 was the beginning of my journey and I was able to lose 23 pounds... I still wasn't happy with where I was. I suffered a lot from self criticism and always putting myself down. My self esteem was a HUGE issue in this journey until January 28, 2014, when just one small choice changed my life.

September 2012 to June 2013 to August 2013

A fellow peer's wife approached me about becoming a health and fitness coach in early December 2013 and I just wasn't sure about it and after speaking with my husband (fiance at the time) he was TOTALLY against it because of the cost and we were planning a wedding. Well after thinking about it for two months, I finally committed because I was legit, DESPERATE and needed a change. I finally committed to a Beachbody workout program, T25 and replacing one meal a day with a nutritional shake called Shakeology! I was EXTREMELY skeptical, but I still had 13 more pounds left to lose to get to my goal weight for my wedding and I knew I needed to try something new since I was at a plateau in the gym! I did the first phase of T25 and was able to lose 6 inches in just 5 weeks and dropped a jean size and was gaining more and more confidence while getting my health under control!

After my wedding, I committed to staying on track with Beachbody and helping people change their lifestyle! Beachbody has helped me really stay focused on becoming a better version of myself. It helped me get my finances on track and eliminate almost $3,000+ in credit card debt which allowed me to qualify for a mortgage and purchase my first home this fall! My life as a coach has dramatically changed. I am able to help people get their health and fitness on track, live a positive lifestyle and finally see their greatest potential.

I was finally able to gain some self-confidence back and understand the importance of personal development to grow as a person. Beachbody and my amazing coach/team have been incredibly supportive of helping one another succeed. This was the piece of the puzzle I was missing to my health and fitness journey! I was given a new group of friends and I am so incredibly grateful for this team. I am so incredibly grateful for this journey and can't wait to see where the next year takes me. I am committed to staying on track with my goals and making a life that I can look back on and be proud of.

Fun facts:  Since I began my health & fitness journey, I have ran numerous 5ks/10ks and ran three half marathons. I committed to my first half marathon EVEN before I was a runner. My second half marathon, I was able to cut off 20 minutes from my time just by doing T25 (it helps with your endurance)!!!

UPDATE: June 8, 2016: In March of 2016, my husband and I welcomed into the world our brand new baby boy. We had prayed for this little boy for many months, and are so blessed to experience this new journey into parenthood.

When I began my health & fitness journey, my goal was to lose the weight to get in shape for my wedding. After gaining approximately 43 lbs with my pregnancy (I didn't really keep track of my weight during the pregnancy), I have only lost about 20 pounds and still have 25 pounds to get back to my prebaby weight. If it wasn't for my accountability groups, my team, my coach and the incredibly supportive beachbody community, I don't think I would have been as focused on getting back on track. My mindset has completely changed from 3 years ago and I am so blessed to surrounded by all the positive and uplifting people in my life.
