Third Time Around! May 3, 2015

5:30AM alarm on a Sunday morning? Are you crazy talking?! That is probably what all the people hanging out in the Steel City thought on Sunday, May 3, 2015, ready to take the route on an incredible journey through this gorgeous city! The weather was perfect. Blue skies. Temps just right. Sun was shining. Crowds cheering on strangers and their loved one. DJs. Bands. Spectators. Marching Bands. Cheerleaders. Friends & family. I have to say it, Marathon Day in Pittsburgh is seriously one of my favoritest days in this city!

This year, my third half marathon was super special! I got to run along side my very best friend! It was a great feeling to have someone supporting you and pushing you to keep going towards that finish line. While this run was probably the most difficult of the three half marathons I have ran, I still had one goal in mind.. finishing! Which is exactly what I did. There was doubts in my mind if I would make it to the finish line. I had pains in my knees. My ankles started to hurt. I walked too much. At one point, I felt like I should just crawl to the finish line, ha. (true story)

I don't want you to think you have to go out there and be perfect. I will be honest with you flat out... this was my WORST time for the half marathon! My official time was 2:57:33! Yep, you heard me.. almost 3 hours! My first half marathon was around 2:40 and last year my time was 2:20! So yep, that's right. I added 37 minutes to my time. But that's ok. I didn't train properly, but I knew I was committed to it. I went out there, paced myself because I didn't want to injure myself and knew that if I could cross that finish line, all is right in MY world!

Too many people strive to be perfect. They put so much pressure on themselves that they forget to enjoy this life they live. You were given one life. Don't stress on the things that didn't go right. Don't dwell on not achieving that goal the first time around. Don't think about all the negative comments you might hear for "failing." Remember this.. FAILURE is PROOF you are TRYING! You are working towards creating a better life for yourself! That is what life is about!

You take risks. You take chances. You fail. You get back up. You keep trying. You NEVER give up! Never ever give up! You can, and will succeed! And with that said... I will be back at it for Round 4 next year! I will train properly, and I will (MARK MY WORD) I will beat my time! :)

You Get What You Need NOT What You Want!

I think some people try to take this life for granted. They are always wanting more, they never stop to take a look at what they do have. For instance, I have clean, fresh air to breath in. Freedom to do whatever I choose. I have a roof over my head. Food in my cupboards. Heat to warm my house. A bed to lay in at night. These are all things that we seem to take for granted, day in and day out! Which as I am sure you can all agree too, it is not right. We should be grateful for these things as others may not have any of the above.

As you grow up, the ignorance between the wants and needs in life will finally begin to make much more sense to you! You will understand that you will not always get in life what you want when you want it but rather, when you need it! (e.g. that awesome promotion at work, the baby you've been wishing for, that significant other, a new home, landing that amazing job, etc.) It may take weeks, months, years and years of stress, discouraging moments and even heartache, but your life is exactly how it is supposed to be right at this very moment.

Recent experiences in my own life have caused me to question, why exactly I can't get what I want right now. I have been working extremely hard. I have been doing everything I should be doing. I have been helping others find their happiness, yet what I want has not yet been given to me. I know that it will be ok though. I have came to terms with there being a plan in place for everything in life. God has given me this life because he knows I can handle it. He knows that I will be a fighter and never give up!

No matter what you may be going through in life, know that there are people out there that wish they had what you have. Stop focusing on the things you don't have and start enjoying the things you do have. This thing we call life, we only get one shot at it. There is no trial run, no second chance... this life is a one time deal. You have to make the most of it and enjoy the blessings. Whenever it is meant to happen, and it will happen, you will totally understand!

If you are struggling with coming to terms with recent experiences in life, I want to invite you to be a part of a community of uplifting and inspiring individuals! Individuals who have helped me realize some of the above! I don't always find happiness with why the things I want have not yet been given to me, but I know there is a plan. Know that it is ok to be frustrated, but don't dwell on it. For more information, please email me at stephainemcclintock@gmail.com or fill out the form below!

Believing in You!

How many of you can relate to constantly comparing yourself to others?! Guilty as charged!! Not something I am proud of but honestly, I am growing out of that stage! Slowly but surely. It is so hard to understand the value of your own self because the media, friends, acquaintances or maybe even family members are simply saying, "I wish I was more like so and so, or my life is never going to be like that."

SERIOUSLY, I did that my entire teenage years even into my late 20s, and it got me absolutely nowhere except for self loathing. I hated the living situation I was in, I hated my figure. I hated my freckles. My wavy hair. I always criticized myself because I wasn't like others and I never thought I could be like them, pretty much like there was NOTHING in this world I could do to change any of that. These people had lots of money. No worries in the world. Gorgeous hair. Beautiful home. Supportive family. They were thin. I could seriously go on... but here is the thing I didn't realize.

No one could ever be me. No one could ever offer the advice like I do. No one has the same thoughts as me. No one could put up a fight like I did to change ALL OF THE ABOVE! No one will EVER be ME! I am unique. I am special. I am beautiful in my own special way. It is extremely important to understand the value of self love and to realize you are God's gift to this earth... and you are truly amazing!

Now I never always believed in myself, and it honestly wasn't until just last year (yep, that's right.... 27 years old) that I really got a grip on self confidence, self love and being thankful for being myself. Actually it was only a short 7 months ago that I began to understand how much of an impact I am making on this world. How did I do it?

Personal Development?! What the heck is that, you are probably asking.... It is INVESTING IN YOURSELF! Reading self help books, learn ways to improve your life. Learn ways to believe in yourself. Learn ways to become better at a certain skill, etc. I know you are probably thinking I am crazy, and those books a bunch of crap, but seriously it helps... WHY DOES IT HELP? Because you realize, that your life is typically no worse than some of the greatest leaders and entrepreneurs in this world. You realize that maybe they even had it worse off than you did and are doing INCREDIBLE things. You realize that you are absolutely strong enough to be exactly like them and create a happier lifestyle!!

Another tip I want to share with you to believe in yourself and be more confident would be to surround yourself with positive, uplifting people! People who always are telling you to keep your head up. To keep fighting when you want to give up. People who are making this world a brighter place! They say that you are the average of the five people you hang out with the most.. Sooooo, if you are surrounding yourself with self-loathing, lazy, miserable people, chances are that is exactly how you will become!! You have to cut your ties with these people who bring you down. Surround yourself with people who lift you up and want to help you become this amazing person who understands that he/she is absolutely amazing!

Now this doesn't happen overnight and it is a long road to recovery, and I know that it will be hard... but when you look back a year from now and say "wow, I never really noticed how negative I was and I am so thankful for this life I wake up to EVERY SINGLE DAY now..." your ENTIRE LIFE has changed. You will be thankful for every rain drop, every sunny day, every person that comes in and out of your life, and EVERY SINGLE STRUGGLE you've gone through because it helped you get to this exact moment!

I want to leave you with a quote from a "self-help/confidence booster" book that I am reading, and I want you to really think about this!

"If you base your self worth on what everyone else thinks of you, you hand all your power over to other people and become dependent on a source outside of yourself for validation. Then you wind up chasing something you have no control over."

Realizing how amazing you are and what you have to offer to this world is truly something special. Know that I think you are such a wonderful gift to this earth & people who have you in theirs are extremely lucky! You are absolutely amazing! Never forget that!

BeachBody - Super Saturday, September 27th

As you all may know I am a Team Beachbody coach! This business makes my heart so happy! The motto explains everything ... "Help People Achieve Their Goals to Lead Healthy Fulfilling Lives!"

BOOM. That is what this is all about! Helping people.... That is what we do as a company, and I am so incredibly blessed to be a part of something so big and so rewarding!

On Saturday, September 27th, we had this AMAZING event, it's called Super Saturday. It is an event to bring together all the Team Beachbody Coaches in the regions across the nation. During this event you get to hear success stories from the customers as well as the coaches, we get to learn about some general information regarding the future of Beachbody and what I love most about this event is hearing from the top leaders in this company! That's right - we get training from the Top Coaches in Beachbody, the number 1 coach to be exact!! (That's right - the number one coach in Beachbody is from the Pittsburgh area!!) How awesome is that??!?!

When you get to network with hundreds of people who are on this same path as you and are extremely passionate about the same things in life, it is such an amazing atmosphere! I couldn't be more proud to be apart of something much larger than I can even explain! We all have that one thing in common -- it is to #EndTheTrend of obesity!

After our training session, the Pittsburgh area Master Trainer, Kam Niskach, KICKED OUR BEHINDS like no other! We got a live workout with her, a combination of Insanity and PiYo. If you want to SWEAT and get a KICKA$$, intense workout - I want you to attend one of her classes. #KILLER and her energy she brings is absolutely amazing. The adrenaline rush and the high from this workout was so awesome. These workouts really focus on your inner strength and mental drive. You get to push yourself further than you ever thought you could go and that is what I love about Beachbody! Pulls you so far out of your comfort zone that you're more comfortable BEING UNCOMFORTABLE!

These events are not just for learning about the company and working out, they are for networking and bonding with your team members. These girls/guys are a huge support system in this business. They are the ones who are always there pushing you to do better and believing you are capable of achieving great things. This team you see to the right, they are supporters, motivators, comedians, and most importantly an amazing group of people who I am so thankful to call my friends! I may not have known them my entire life, and maybe not even 6 months, but they hold a very special place in my heart.

If this event is something you would love to be apart of, January 9th --- mark your calendars, please email me at tbbcoschsteph87@gmail.com! I am so excited for the next event and I want you to come along with me!!

What could $40 for you?

I remember a day back in late November 2013, I was notified on Instagram about an opportunity to become a Health and Fitness Coach... but I knew NOTHING about what that meant. I began talking to Amie DeSanzo (a 1 Star Diamond Beachbody Coach) and she gave me some information about "coaching" and also the challenge groups she ran. I said no at first because I enjoyed working out in a gym, I was not using the products and I was in the middle of planning a wedding so I just couldn't afford to "waste" the money on the workout program and Shakeology.

Fast forward to January, after really thinking about this for a good two months, and following Amie on Facebook and Instagram, I really thought what she was doing was amazing. She got to work from home, spend a lot of time with her children, work when she wanted and worked out, and stayed extremely active/dedicated to her workouts and meal plans during her third pregnancy. I was TOTALLY ENVIOUS. I always told her "I hope I look like you on my third pregnancy" and she would always comment back, "You Can!" This gave me hope!!

January 28th, the day my life was changed. I agreed to sign up as a Beachbody Coach after researching it more and tossing the idea around with my husband (fiance then). He said I would be wasting my money, but I went ahead with my gut feeling and spent the $39.95, signed up to become a coach and got my New Coach Welcome Kit. I was now able to start helping others reach their health and fitness goals! HOW AWESOME IS THAT! While I was still completely mind boggled about exactly what I was suppose to do, I was excited to get started!

While I was planning a wedding, and the stress of the uncertainty at my day job, I just couldn't handle anything else on my plate, so my Beachbody Business took the back burner since I could just pick up and work it whenever I wanted. I will be honest, I thought about quitting, just giving up because I wasn't seeing any commitment from people and I was just too busy. What really made me change my direction was when all the coaches who were out in Las Vegas for Summit and I got to see all the amazing photos, everyone's excitement and high energy. I then realized, this was my calling. I knew that I wanted to do something big with this company! PEOPLE WERE CROSSING THE STAGE AS MILLIONAIRES, YES MILLIONAIRES helping people live happier, healthier lives!! So after that, I knew I had to start doing one of our vital behaviors, I started investing in myself. I began reading personal development books. The first book I read was Twelve Pillars, then moved on to the Compound Effect by Darren Hardy and now reading The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, as well as listening to our team calls, national wake up calls, and taking advice from the top coaches in our industry! MY MIND WAS EXPLODING. I was so excited, was ready to take on the world!!

I knew I was put on this earth to do great things, I knew I wanted to help inspire people and see other people reach their greatest potential. I knew that I wanted to do the things that scared me and succeed. I just knew that this was the best opportunity that could have ever crossed my path. I went in full force, inviting people, talking about how my progress and eventually people were reaching out to me asking for help! I was completely overwhelmed by how many people were actually following my story. Helping others and seeing them become successful makes my heart so incredibly happy!

The thing I love most about this company is the endless possibilities. There is no limit on how many people you can help, there are no limits on how much money you can make, no limits on ANYTHING. And yes, you invest just $40 and I promise you, this opportunity with change your life! I have become much more positive over the last seven and a half months, I have reached my goal weight, and I have created friendships that I know will last a lifetime! What is even more amazing is I know that this is just the beginning to something completely amazing!! All because I took $40 to invest in a happier, healthier lifestyle. What are you doing to make your life worth living?
